An architect’s own inner-city cottage — designing affordable architecture with Architect George

Показать описание
House in Newtown by Architect George explores how a small footprint and floor area can create a high level of amenity, and a sustainable approach to existing housing stock in the city. The architect wanted a home that represented their own personality on a very tight budget, and didn't sacrifice the outdoors for more built space. The result is a beautiful home that is far greater than its modest size.

Special thanks to Dean of Architect George for having us in his home.

This is the first video in what we plan to make our 'WOVEN' series, exploring the new family home and how thoughtful residential architecture is adapting to the changing needs of contemporary families, and impacting life at home.

Hi. Seen this featured on Never Too Small. Absolutely love it! Exactly! Here in the UK far too many new builds and no developer or architects [well relatively few!] prepared to re-develop 'lost' spaces as in above shops etc in the city centres. Or indeed use existng housing stock..old terraces etc. This is a stunnig, simply ''proper'' home where ever sq cm is used. I have a converted space above a shop on a market town High Street and like you tend to let the worlld in... no curtains etc. And why not? Again thank you for sharing. A perfect little place to live.
