Housing prices are skyrocketing in cities worldwide. Incomes are not. The working and middle classes are getting pushed out of cities, while financial powerhouses use housing as a place to park money.

PUSH is a documentary from award-winning director Fredrik Gertten, investigating why we can’t afford to live in our own cities anymore. We follow UN Special Rapporteur on Housing, Leilani Farha, on her quest to understand who’s getting squeezed, who’s getting rich and why housing has become one of today’s most pressing world issues?

The film had its World Premiere at CPH:DOX, 2019, where it won the coveted Audience Award.

I watched it and I think it is worth the money. There is no such thing as free, major corporations can offer Facebook free because you are the product. I think it is worth seeing, but my question after seeing this is: What can we do about it? I honestly don't know

LOVE this doc.. Saw it at the amazing, mind expanding Bergen International Film Festival in Norway 2019. Long live documentaries and their makers. Down with absentee real estate investors. Down with Blackstone.

Who should own? Definitely citizens. If all of UK own by Chinese politicians, will it be UK or New North China?

1. Ban foreign buyers and corporates buying residentials resale properties, prioritize actual citizens.
2. Limit total ownership per person, no one can hoard property and distribution will be fair.
3. Refinancing cannot be used for real estate, there will be no one gambling with leverage max total debt 10x of their net take home pay.
4. Rent control, same as min wage increase growth rate.
5. Standardize rent range per sqft for different spec of finishes and locations. Categorize high grade finishes to low grade finishes.
6. Population control, find Max population after deducted land for agriculture to manufacturing. Accepted number of immigrants/refugee depends on number of citizens die, when and how many baby can a family have, legalize and standardize abortion, fix orphanage system to nurture and distribute.

Would you rather build the country using steroid or natural? Natural growth is slow with lower debt and lower income gap. Population is 7.8 Billion, immigration was acceptable because lower population. Higher population is difficult to be managed.

Lord charges taxes as they please, peasants protested and ignored, so they rebel and kill the lord.
