Mitski - The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We (Album Review)

The Land is Inhospitable and So Are We is an album I have been looking forward to since the start but did not necessarily have high hopes for in the same way that I did Mitski's past couple of records. I was expecting another solid release, and what I was left with is a genuine contender for her strongest album to date. The Land is Inhospitable and So Are We is emotionally brutal, compositionally excellent, and by far one of the most beautifully written singer/songwriter albums of the year so far. If you count yourself among those who lost faith in Mitski after her past couple of records, now is an ideal time to tune back in.
