I had a diehard Minecraft phase 10 years ago when I was 11. I am a 21 year old woman in college, now. Since I got back into the game a few months ago, I occasionally hop on Bedrock on my phone, wearing a skin I made of a funny character I like from one YouTube video, and build my futuristic neo seaside city in Creative. It could not be possible 10 years ago. I have made so much use of those sea lanterns and other blocks. It's amazing, how much stuff they've added.

Although, frankly, a good portion of us GoldenAge players, are fine with modern Minecraft. Most of us play it to an extent. I just prefer my single player worlds to be on beta versions.

Idk, I do feel like the earlier versions of Minecraft are an entirely different game from the newer ones. I like both. I play the old ones when I want a cozy experience focused on building and creativity, with a more barren and solitary world, and I play the new versions when I want something more adventurous, with more things to do and explore. I think both have their merits and I don’t see anything wrong in recognizing their difference. There is no “best” version.

Personally I really enjoy both versions of the game. One isn’t better than the other they’re just completely different at this point. Not a big fan of people saying the only reason I play old Minecraft is nostalgia though because I don’t think nostalgia is retained after years of playing older versions. I suppose for some it is accurate but there are many more that never got to experience older version and are just curious

The only thing I personally don’t like about the newer Minecraft is not the features, but the overly-extreme measures Mojang takes (or Microsoft actually in this case) regarding adding features. I really liked the indie aspect of the game back in 2013 & below, where they could add whatever the heck they want.

I need more cursed stuff to be added like the “fermented spider eyes” and other witchcrafty horror stuff. Minecraft is too bubbly and “wholesome” nowadays, lots of disney type shi happy endings. I hope I’m making a lil bit of sense here

But as pointed out, games weren't ALWAYS better qaulity back then. You were just a kid and enjoyed the simpler things in life. And this doesn't just apply to gaming either. Its called "Anhedonia" and it's extremely common

it was. my first minecraft experience was on the Xbox 360 and it was just the best version like the tutorial with the big logo is just so much better than whatever the heart of the sea is. and also the music in that version is so much better. I'm sorry but that's the best version.

Pvp is the only bad change they’ve really made because they completely ignored a whole community and forced them onto old verisons for a while, but this has been solved these days. Everything else is ADDING to Minecraft which should never be a problem and u can just play older verisons anyways. Also most of these people didn’t play alpha or beta minecraft, which is a lot different “vibe wise” (still was super boring cause nothing to do), everything from release verisons has the same vibe/look lmao.
