Today we meet Ron who has created a very cheap Off-Grid Cabin on Wheels. He wanted a Plan B back-up to his home, just in case, and to also get out and travel. But because he was in North Carolina where it was hot and humid, he demanded it must have an Air Conditioner!

Be sure to check out my Amazon store, which is full of items that I either use myself, or know other nomads who use them.

My goodness, this man is brilliant! Someone needs to invite him to van builds and RTR!

Ron's ingenuity and creative thinking is impressive. He's very humble when he says he just assembled his mechanisms using bits and bobs that he had lying around. I'm marvelling at his inventive designs!

I loved listening to the birds in the background, we don't have a whole lot of birds in Las Vegas so hearing those in this video was fantastic!

Folks like this are the ones that make life better with new ideas. An inventor from simple tinkering around with a need. Great ideas...

Does what he can with what he has. Ingenuity wins the day.

There's nothing more American than backyard tinkering resulting in something that fills a need.

I watch just about every new video on this channel. I watch them at work on my phone during breaks. Your channel has made me want to sell off my Toyota back to the dealership early next year, trade it for a cheap van, fix it up and spend a few months living in it to save money. I am definitely leaning toward doing so around February 2018

To those who felt it necessary to opine about how stupid or wasteful this idea is, consider this. He is obviously a hobby tinkerer with an idea and a goal and thought and worked to achieve it. By doing so, he’s given many some good ideas. Maybe we don’t all want to run an A/C in a humid climate, but the idea of using panels for shade is a winner for one thing. I also have a hobby where I make new things out of clothing or fabrics others would throw away. Even if he decides it’s not working the way he wants, the money isn’t wasted on the panels and batteries. I’m sure he will remake something else. Look how much money a golfer can spend on his hobby and not even have anything to use again :-).

The guy kept saying he was trying to use what he already had on hand as much as possible. Imagine what he could accomplish if he went out and bought stuff.

Lol. Thanks for the video. He was adorable the way he was proud of his panels and shade. Good job and smart too. A nomad spirit.

This is perfect for me, I cannot climb on the roof. Solar and shade. As far as a/c, I will never choose such a hot, humid location... been there, done that. Give me snow!

So you really can run a/c with enough solar! RV dwellers are the most ingenious people! Can't wait for the next video to see inside.

Leave it to the farmer or people that live outside the city to get it done. AMAZING. Thanks for sharing this video.
