Yes Dave Grohl was drummer for Nirvana (also plays drums for Queens of the Stone Age - sometimes). Not only a great band but Dave is a great person. I'm in South Africa and he's one of the few great rock bands that actually made an effort to play down here. Awesome concert - almost 3 hours of pure rock. Always has my respect. As for other great songs - yes - just pick any.

Last Foo Fighters story. Late night talk show host David Letterman retired a few years back. Foo Fighters were his favorite band, and he wanted them to come perform on his final show, but they were on tour in South America. But the band decided to hop on a plane, fly to NY and perform at his final show anyway because they were friends and because it was important to David. They performed Everlong (Letterman's favorite song) over a montage of moments from Letterman's show from the past 20 years. Definitely worth checking out.

Dave wrote and played/sang every part of The Foos' first album. He put the band together so he could tour.

I had the pleasure to watch them live, 4-5 years before Hawkins passed-away... They simply gave one of the best live-shows i've ever witnessed by any Rock n' Roll band to this day! Pure! Simple! And almost non-stop for about 2:30 hours! That was a true fkn experience!❤

And that's yet another layer of the genius of the Foo Fighters - they want their lyrics to mean whatever the listener wants it to mean. The Best!

I love the Foos so much, and Taylor's death still hits me hard when I think of it. I met Dave briefly at a Farmer's Market, of all places, with his mom and kids and he was just the nicest guy, living up to his reputation. This is definitely one of my favorite songs of theirs, but they have so many. As much as Taylor's absence will be felt by all their fans, I'm so glad they decided to not break up and are going back out on the road.
