Invaluable math/arithmetic lesson!
Thank you Boss
and the
I Never Knew Crew!
When I was in JHS and Highschool;
I never was interested in equations or anything that resembles algebra!
All I wanted to master was:
Addition
Subtraction
Multiplication
Short division
Percentages
So I could count money!

This is great. I would simplify it differently, however. I would add 30 to both sides and subtract 16x from each side. In one step you now have positive values on both sides of the equal sign. This makes the division a little more approachable for people. Just a thought. Thus ...

16x + 24 = 24x - 30
30 + 24 = 8x
6.75 = x

The bottom line .. we are both correct. ... just different approaches.

Haven’t done this is 20 plus years but I got it correct. Like riding a bike. Once you get it you’ll never lose it.

2x= 8×3=24
4×= 5×6=30
24+ 30 =54
2x × 4x= 8x

8x= 54
X= 54/8
X = 6.75

Mine is a lil different
