I enjoy these videos so much. Like this one, how a film shot in the 1930's is made to look like it was just filmed in the last 5 years on a high resolution camera. The people that do this transformation are very special people. Thanks for your hard work and fantastic creativity! Keep them coming!!!

I would say this is HongKong and not Beijing because: U can see sea at min, 0:59, there is no sea in Beijing, but there is sea in Hong Kong. (2) Too many store signs written in English, and also a tram, so probably HongKong, not Beijing. (3) min.1:46, a sign has written "Carne de Vaca", this is Portuguese for "beef". Macau is next to HongKong, so it is possible someone deciced to have a sign in Portuguese. (4) Gambling houses signs written in English, again, more probable in HongKong than Beijing.

NASS, I very much enjoy your videos. All of the editing that you do adds to a great viewing experience. This one, a slice of daily life of nearly 100 years ago and in a place so far removed from “modern” society then, is quite interesting. Thank you for the work you do!

1:11 I can hear my hometown Hoishan (Taishan of Guangdong Province) ‘s dialect. “Ai Feng Ai Sui 大風大水” means heavy wind and rain in Hoishanese. I wonder where the original audio was taken, there were many Cantonese sounds on it (Definitely not in Beijing where there’s a Mandarin speaking area).

Molto bello!

My grandma, born in 1927, and lived in Beijing her entire life. Crazy to think that she could be in somewhere in this video. Statistically I must be distantly related to some of the people in this video. Another time another world

I wonder why there's portuguese written at 01:47, interesting.

This looks amazing! Just a feedback for the sound design. Whatever you used for sound has a drawl that is characteristic of Cantonese and doesn't exist at all in Beijing accent Chinese. Beijing has a very distinct accent.

Just Watched film 55 Days at Peking (great movie), and even if it was filmed in Spain with built sets, they made the gate of city wall of Peking that you can see in the video right.
