I discuss what is my choice of magnet for magnet fishing and which magnet's to avoid. I discuss in detail the pro's and con's of my magnet along with the cheaper magnets that are readily available at your local hardware store.

Other items I think you'd like to look at for magnet fishing:

65ft rope with carabiner

880LB pull magnet kit

1200LB double sided magnet

Budget Friendly magnet 575LB pull

Cone Magnet as seen above

Great video and you talking about the shape to buy and cone shape and not getting snagged.
Not seen you using that in the future and hope you did not lose it.
Nice One M8.

I’ve been trying to talk my daughter into doing this with me. I wasn’t sure what magnets to get. This helps! Thanks!

Glad I saw this video! I was just looking up Doublesided vs single sided magnet. I just ordered the cone Magnet you had linked in this video.
So far, the only thing I found was an auger for ice fishing that's still usable! I'm already hooked on this new hobby up here in Michigan!

I used to search under docks with a snorkel and mask. 40 years later, I still have the scissors and BB gun that I found. The golf balls are long gone. I just ordered my first magnet and I am looking forward to trying it out. No snorkeling for me at age 60. I am also looking into a metal detector since it is what retired folks do, right ?

Going back and watching all your old video's and oh boy, wished I had seen this one a long time ago. I did buy a cheap magnet and didn't realize they would come apart and within a few hours, my rope came up without the magnet. Thanks for the info!

Wire core rope is the best! The best knot is the bowline!

I use the Palomar knot recommended by others on the Tube with an extra knot above and the tag end cinched up with 3 zip ties spaced evenly apart. Same type of rope as yours.
