11 months ago Powell did not see stagflation on the horizon but now is projecting stagflation with lower growth and higher inflation. Inflation is slowing down but no action on rate cuts, and if inflation is gonna spike where are the rate hikes? Seems to me that the fed does not know what they are doing and ignoring obvious consumer sentiment does not seem like a solid plan. The Fed is responsible for inflation and stagnation, not Trump, yet all Powell was talking about was tariff tariff and inflation inflation. Easing off QT is bullish but nothing else. Powell seemed more incompetent than ever. Am I missing something?

We're gonna be fine because Trump loves the market. trying to get it lower on purpose because he needs to refinance America's debt and he wants to refinance it at a lower rate, he figures if the market crashes that Powell will lower rates. And we do need to get our debt lower at this point we are the cleanest shirt in the dirty laundry but if we want to remain on top we need to pay back some of that debt, The amount we have to pay to refinance it is just too high, supposedly over a trillion dollars we're going to pay on interest. We got to get this shit lower

JP did make it clear they would differentiate between tariffs and inflation price increases. However, higher oil/gas prices from tariffs WILL cause general inflation. I guess what he means is they will be looking at recession indicators in their decisions re rate reductions more than just prices. So that is some relief
