Theres a explaination to it as we know after yoriichi left is house to fight demons, he gave that house to tanjiros descendents and where tanjiro lives is the same place yoriichi and uta lived centuries ago and we know that blue spider lily grew on uta's grave and most likely she would be buried in her own backyard as the house has her memories so blue spider lily were in tanjiros house backyard and their mother may have feed them that due to poverty or as a tea or medication and they were attacked at night and blue spider lily only blooms in daylight to that could be

Kie, Tanjiro & Nezuko’s mom knew where the blue spider lily was. It was at Uta’s (Yoriichi’s wife) grave. Kie used to make soup out of the blue spider lily and fed it to Tanjiro, Nezuko and their siblings. Now if you want to know why the blue spider lily did this, this is in Muzan’s backstory. A physician in the Heian period wanted to help Muzan, bc he was weak and would die before the age of 20. The physician made a sample of the medicine and fed it to Muzan. At Muzan’s worsening condition, he raged and killed the physician. Although right at the murder Muzan realised that the medicine was having an effect, he then gained super natural abilities and great power, but he could not walk under the sun anymore. As stated my Tamayo herself it takes 3 days to fully transform a demon. So when Nezuko was found it was just 1 night after she was injected with Muzans blood she couldn’t have fully transformed in that time so then when Nezuko protected Tanjiro that was her little bit of humanity left and now either Nezuko being forced to be more humane made her timid by force or she was never free from the curse she was just in control of herself but no humanity left just a little control. (Likely the second one bc demons are uncontrollable)
