Congratulations! What a gem to buy a 4 with the accessories and tag!

TM 4 was available from 1995-2011. She isn’t as rare as shorter release dolls. She does tend to sell for more money than some of the other early TM dolls.

I like the original blank books. I have part of the set including the book of writing guides. I don’t know how often the PC story books were used. Now there are hardback and paperback blank books for people to write their own stories in without writing in the 30 year old PC books.

I like AG’s latest TM book “All About Me” with more prompts and illustrations. It looks more inviting to write in.

I got my #4 in almost brand new condition from an original employee of American Girl! I Love being only a couple hours away from the American Girl headquarters, It's always a lot of fun to talk with previous employees and even buy things from them. I've gotten some extremely rare items, doll collecting can be so much fun!

I was lucky enough to purchase a #4 about 10 years ago for under $100.00. She is in pretty good shape, eyes good, clean... hair is a little dry but in great shape (still has the little flip at the ends). She is such a treasure. Apparently mine is an older version because of the lip and cheek color. Thanks for sharing !

Congrats on #4 again 😊, also do you think you will ever fix the #4 with the sliver eye? I remember in one of your early videos, you showed us how you would fix a sliver eye using paint and a slim paint brush. Or maybe do an eye swap with #4 eyes and a PC American Girl of Today?

What an amazing find! Thanks for sharing her with us. :) I'm that collector who doesn't need to add #4 to my collection. :) I started collecting in 2012, so Josefina is my favorite mold, closely followed by Joss. I'm not a fan of the older molds and I don't have any Classic molds in my collection either. I used to, but sold them. I have 8 dolls right now and 7 of them are customs. I have 2 Historicals (Nanea & Marie-Grace), 2 GOTY's (Grace & Gabriela), 2 World By Us (Evette & Maritza) and 2 Truly Me's (#26 and #64). I really don't want to "mess up" my 2+2+2+2 collection, but I want a custom Claudie, so she will be my next doll, but not until 2025, as I'm taking 2024 off from buying toys of any kind.

I remember when she came out because I had a sunflower hat *exactly* like that ❤ I was in 5th grade in 1995. It was so strange to see modern outfits on the dolls after years of the historical catalogs!

I had a Pleasant Company 4 and she was in pristine condition, her vinyl wasn’t discolored and her hair was super glossy. But I ended up selling her and getting a Mattel JLY4. I like redressing my dolls in all kinds of AG fashions, and the big chunky body of my PC 4 didn’t fit into most of my AG fashions. The larger PC feet never fit into the AG shoes. So now I have a Mattel 4, she’s gorgeous! She’s from the mid to late 00’s and her face is a lot cuter than the PC 4. ❤
