NIce. We need to start organizing outreach programs, and forming relationships with local educational systems, fixing our public relations policies and letting young people know that we exist. Most people in USA don't know the reality of the labor unions, and that they have always been the backbone of all working class/middle class standards of living.

I’m a operating engineer and it’s been a blessing . Hardest part of any of these jobs is getting the job

Longshoremen too hard to get into because of nepotism. Unless you family or close friends. They all messing with each other. Same for the maritime industry as a whole. I'm in the tug and barge construction industry non-union, met some guys that came over as casuals barely getting any work being on-call and they all had family in there already. Maybe you can get to the top after a crane operator dies or retires then you can make that big money but how many decades are guys trying to wait their turn until somebody gives out. We want to start making big money asap. After sometime you start to hear about deaths and how people have gone out in the industry that nobody hears about. Pretty gruesome.

Hey bro, are there any labor jobs that doesn’t require much skill at railroad where I can make around 30$ after years?? I can’t do stuff that require a lot of skill like electrician etc, just labor stuff is my best bet or something simple, anything with math I can’t do basically
realistically
IUOE is not just tower crane...It's all cranes. As with most construction jobs it's either feat or famine.
BTW...we all have high blood pressure from the stress

I am 41 with 30 years experience in my trade! I am ten years in union now when I was a kid I always looked at the union as the top tier now after ten years and the change of times anyone can be a union member lazy, crazy, and people who have no clue of the trade the company's will hire anyone nowadays. I recommend go union if you are lazy and want to do the same thing for the rest of your career if you keep paying your dues and show up and say yes to everything 😉 your right for the union
