Cetatea Histria

Histria was founded in the 7th century BC by Greek colonists from Miletus. It is considered the oldest Greek colony on the western coast of the Black Sea.

Histria was incorporated into the Roman Empire around the 1st century BC. Under Roman rule, the city continued to prosper and expanded significantly. The Romans fortified the city, built temples, public baths, and other significant structures.
