I disagree a bit, I think Snoop just happened to be at the right place at the right time, a few years or a decade earlier Snoop probably wouldn’t even be in the rap game BUT Snoop capitalized off smoking weed & he pretty much became the poster child for weed smoking & then once he said nice things about Willie Nelson & Martha Stewart that got him in good with the Caucasian side & we all know it’s a wrap after that…notice they had him on the Olympics now, America loves a black man / gangsta that won’t speak negative about white people etc & that’s why a lot of rappers won’t blow up because they won’t hesitate to pick a side on political issues BUT again America loves the black celebrity who will say “ Hey it ain’t about color etc “……Now I give Snoop credit for knowing that but it’s pretty much common sense….the same thing goes on in the normal world like where I work at….a lot of brothers don’t get the big position/ manager job because they see a dude coming to work rocking a Black Lives Matter shirt, they hear them speak negative about certain things that they like, they bash cops, etc etc BUT when you go against the grain & keep it real then you will definitely be limited dealing with the powers that be.Trust me you will NEVER see Ice Cube get the offers Snoop got simply because Ice Cube will speak out against unfairness etc.
