The lowest note is the second from the major scale. Starting from the fifth string it is the aolian mode with the raised seventh of the harmonic minor. The visual from the fifth string is very clear.

Fifth mode of the harmonic minor. Harmonic minor has a raised seventh. So it's actually The phrygian mode of the major scale with the raised second. At the bottom of the kitkat it can go right below the root of the major scale. At the 6 pack it can be a raised 2nd, Outside the 6 pack with 3 1/2 steps to the third.

Im so sorry but what is a b9 of b13, ive never heard of anything higher than a b7. I always thought the phrygian domiant intervals were 1 b2 3 4 5 b6 b7

Is this the key of A? What I’m confused about is that if it’s the 5th mode, isn’t A the fifth of D?

All it is is the minor pentatonic shape started from the fifth string instead of the sixth. Then it's the minor pentatonic but instead of a flat 7 it's a raised 7. combined the 2. Move it over. Move it up one string. play that freaky seventh note.
