Mufflehead Insect Emergence Swarming Lake Erie Shore

This swarm of insects emerged last night near the mouth of Turtle Creek. I woke to every surface covered with these little guys. Any place that was on the lee side of the lake wind was covered just like in this video. I witnessed a smaller swarm of these guys in January at Orleans Park in Perrysburg. I thought they were mosquitos when I first saw them in January. I found a wiki article that shows pictures for Chironomidae, aka muffleheads, aka midge flies.
