I'm actually pleasantly surprised. As good as it is to have media that helps children cope with the death of a loved one, it's nice to know Bob was just "finding himself." I want to see more of Grandpa Bob! I feel like he is a silly, creative grandpa as Bandit is a father. I would love to see his dynamic with the family!

I like it and I like that no one is getting upset with him, just some loving ribbing from his wife. I think it's nice to show that couples are allowed to do things alone without it meaning that the relationship is in a bad spot. She knew it was something that'd make him feel better and was happy to let him do it without feeling guilty. Seems like she liked having some time to herself as well.

My grandparents are dead (except for one of my grandmothers), they died when I was pretty young and I don’t have many memories of them. When I watch shows like these that depict grandfathers and their relationships with their grandchildren, it’s a pretty bittersweet feeling for me.

I heard that COVID was the reason that McFadyen couldn’t make it for Fairytale. While most voices are done in Brisbane I’m quite convinced that Dave has a recording studio (as most musicians do) at home which means he can record in Sydney and Mel can record in California just because, but it’s a little different for occasional characters.

I read this once so take with a grain of salt:

I believe someone on the crew mentioned that the IRL explanation for Bob's absence initially was that Ian wasn't comfortable coming in to record lines during COVID due to his age/being high risk... So for season 2 they didn't have him around, then when season 3 started they likely were holding off until they could figure out if they should recast or not. It's very likely that it was all amicable and Ian's wishes to not put himself at a health risk being respected resulted in them recasting Bob when they decided they were ready to bring him back for stories.

I love this channel so much! One thing I keep thinking about after the episode is this what job will Bandit take? One that I'm hoping for is that he pitches a show based on his adventures with the girls drawn by Chilli so that way they can both leave their jobs and be able to spend more time with the kids.
