I absolutely love these old Victorian brewery tours but can we just take a moment to appreciate that Volvo station wagon at 12 seconds into the video? 😍😍😍

The Yeast separation equipment is called a "Filter Press".
Filter cakes are formed in between each Filter Press plate. When the filtration process is complete, the cakes are dropped in the bin located below.
Filter Presses obviously operate in batch mode and can be quite large pieces of equipment. Pressure drop is a critical parameter to measure - tells you how developed the filter cakes are at any one time.

That was enlightening. I am not sure cos it has been a few minutes since I heard it in the video but I believe I am an 'Old Duffer'. I am 78 years old and still prefer what is described as old duffers beer. I have tried 'Craft' ale and frankly it is the on;ly pint I have not finished I am not at all keen of lemons and oranges in the taste of my beverage. I also think this is the main reason why I still do 'All Grain' Home Brewing.
I would be intereseted to know if they used whole Hop flowers or Pellets cos I think the natural filterbed of the Hop Flower when drawing off the brew from the kettle is hard to replicate and modern vacuum packed whole hops are consideranly dusty and powdered..

What a great brewery ! I love a lot of the craft keg beers, I would drink more cask beer if pubs could look after it properly. I know it's much more difficult to look after and shelf life is much shorter. So if customers aren't buying enough, it's more difficult for pubs to justify keeping it. 🍻

Another great vlog, thank you. I have experimented with co2 over cask ale but at the time my pressure regulations wasn't up to the task. I have since obtained one of your (much more precise) regulators so might try again. Having said that kegs are so reliable difficult to justify going back to casks🤔
