Watch Call My Agent y'all !! As a Frenchman I can assure you that you will not be disappointed :) it's the best French series I know so far

I’ve been watching Call my Agent recommended by you and it’s really entertaining. I usually like the more serious French movies but I’m def going to give the light hearted ones a chance from now on. I watched Change of Plan ( movie) and it was so great to observe the french dinner parties. A good one for that is also Nothing to Hide. There’s another one that I can’t recall the name, but it’s a dinner amongst friends and one of them jokes he’s going to name his son Adolf and there’s a lot of drama around it. But I think these are all older movies.

We’ve yet to watch Marseille ! Might have to now... Dix Pour Cent is still our fav though because we loved getting to see a new French actor featured every episode ! Sad it’s over 🥺

I recommend "Au service de la France" (comedy about spies with a lot of absurd situations).
Same humor as in the film "la cité de la peur". 😉

Kaamelott! Kaamelott is the best one. Especially if you wanna learn funny curse words :) and if you tell a french person that you love Kaamelott there's a huge possibility that you'll make friends 😂

You should watch "Marianne" on Netflix. It's about a really popular horror writer named Emma who decided to end her famous series of books about a girl tormented by a witch named Marianne. But it all goes bad when a childhood friend of Emma came to her and said that Marianne is real and that Emma needs to continue her story for making her stronger and stronger by comitting infamies that Emma wrote on her books.

Hi Rosie, a few suggestions for you :
- Engrenages : the best french series ever created imo. It's about criminal police in Paris. Addictive and realistic.
- Hippocrate : a medical series, very realistic. Although the vocabulary is pretty advanced and technical (even I being french don't understand so I guess it's no big deal)
- Le bureau des légendes : about intelligence forces
- Versailles : not exactly a french series since actors are british but can be watched in french. It's about Louis XIV obviously
- Un village français : about WW2
- Connasse : not a series but it's hilarious and it features Camille Cottin AKA Andrea Martel from Dix Pour Cent AKA France national treasure, and that's enough reason to watch it :)

You might want to check out the gripping Belgian series "La Trêve" (called "The Break" on Netflix) about a small town crime in the Ardennes. Even though I am a proponent of the Agatha Christie school of "the most innocent looking person is guilty, " this still managed to trick me in the end.

I loved le bureau des etrangers (the bureau in English). The story of a DGSE agent who returns to France from Syria. There are 5 seasons, all excellent.

3) Le bazar de la charité
4) Family bassines
5) Plan cœur

There is also Mortel on Netflix, and it uses a really real/modern french that younger people will use :)
