I am still amazed how many tech YouTubers claim that the OnePlus 12 cameras are not as good compared to the iPhone, Galaxy, and Pixel. As someone who uses the S24 Ultra and OnePlus 12, I think the OnePlus 12 does a better job at taking photos due to relying more on hardware instead of software. The over sharpening issue on the S24 Ultra makes the image unusable in most cases. Even the Hi-Res mode on the OnePlus 12 is impressive. The only area where OnePlus needs to improve on is video.

I sold my OP Open yesterday and using my S24 Ultra right now. I just now purchased a brand new OP Open all over again. (I made a nice lil profit, lol). Point i definitely prefer my 1÷ over Samsung.
PS. Ive owned ALL the S Flagship, Notes and Ultras from the very beginning. Ill be taking out my 1+ 12 to use until i receive the Open. 😊

Fantastic video brandon! I have been thinking about this a lot the past 5 years or so because no matter how many times I have talked about different advice for me post about devices that aren't readily available here in the states, people have no idea what they are and they don't know the cool things that these companies are doing with their devices. I think the recent doj lawsuit against Apple really puts a finger on how this has come to be because they have recognized that when companies like apple can be a monopoly in a region, it stifles innovation and prevents new features and ideas from coming to us. Its an absolute shame that Vivo, Xiaomi, and Oppo are not widely known here. I bang the table for Sony as well.

Awesome review! I completely agree the big three have definitely settled. One Plus is going in a great direction, even the 12R punches above its weight and the cameras on the 12 are amazing from the shots I've seen they look fantastic. It's wild to say they don't stack up to the big three.

This will be the 3rd phone you've sold me on. I always looked at Oppo, One Plus, Huawei, etc. and thought about how nice it would be to get one of them. With One Plus being stateside now, I'm more excited than ever to get my hands on one.

I really love my Oneplus 12. It's fast, UI is smooth as silk, absolutely no bloatware, works like a beast with all the multitasking I do on it, great display with good visibility outdoors, excellent RAM management, superb battery backup that lasts all day and has never let me down. Strongbox engine 3.0 keeps my confidential data secure and gives me peace of mind. Camera is decent too, works for my purpose. I own the Galaxy S23 ultra as well but use OP 12 as my primary phone as I absolutely love it!

I was kind of on the fence on buying the OnePlus 12 and was instead of thinking of heading back to samsung. But this video, always as good as your other videos, has convinced me. You did a phenomenal job. I will be getting one really soon

In my opinion, while yes, some smartphones might have more megapixels, "better" hardware, more ram, etc. But because smartphone hardware has essentially peaked, pushing improved hardware alone is not as effective as it was 10, 15 years ago. The reason why people love iPhones is largely because of its software, and how efficient and optimized they make it. Sure more phones have more megapixels or whatever, but which photos look better? Software matters much more nowadays than hardware. Even if Asian brands sell their phones in the US, I doubt it will significantly change how popular iPhones are. I used to love Android, but when you try out the reliability and efficiency and convenience of Apple's ecosystem, its really really hard to go away from it and that is one of the major reasons Apple is winning. Their devices just works and are very reliable.

So many truths in one video... I owned a one plus 10 pro in the past and the only downside was the lack of tele lens, after that I got the s24 ultra and honestly the experience was not that good I would expect more in terms of battery and camera, so I decided to sell it and get the oneplus 12 and honestly I could no be more happy with a phone great customization, great battery life, better photography cameras, the video at fullhd 60fps is as good as s24 ultra, so in bottom line chinese phones are actually getting better and better... By the way you got a new sub here, regards

Nice to see a reviewer that's not sold out to either Apple or Samsung or Google. I've seen so many reviews that say the camera sucks but I own both the OnePlus open and 12. I traded in and s23 ultra for my open and the camera on the open is much better in my opinion.
