It’s 51 degrees in Richmond currently at 4pm

It is 50F at my house in Wythe County at 1:15pm. Admittedly that thermometer trends a degree or two warm. It is also still overcast so it is possible to warm up.

It is 3:30 Saturday afternoon. Surprisingly, the models you showed early in this wonderful video were basically correct. At 3pm, Roanoke reached 48*, RIchmond 46*. We have had mostly sunny skies since about 11:30am today here in Roanoke area. But I have no idea if this will have any impact or influence on what happens Sunday morning and early afternoon here in Roanoke valley.
For me, tomorrow will be a race between temperatures falling and how quickly, and when the precip will end. NWS just amended its hourly forecast a bit cooler for tomorrow, but it STILL shows mostly a RAIN event until about possibly 3pm or 4pm. I suspect that after watching your video, the NWS forecast is BS mostly. I seriously doubt that lowest elevations of Raonoke and Salem will get more than 2 inches of snow on the ground. But even an inch will cause possible headaches if snow on roads (??) and driveways is not CLEARED immediately.

About the NAM. I have seen it be very aggressive for predicting snow for Virginia west of Blue Ridge, almost by itself .... and be the only correct model. But I have also seen the exact opposite. It went very high for snow, and badly busted. Time will tell.

Yeah, 52 at 4pm in Farmville... My station in the window says 42, phone says 45 at 1:45. No freaking way the models are right. You are absolutely correct.

OMG, I can't believe it!!! An inch or two of snow in Richmond!@@@ Be still my heart. And snow in Hampton Roads Tues. Wed. (They have big ships there you know) oh, oh, oh I am delirious!!!! Nothing in the world is more important than snow in Hampton Roads! I can die happy.

DT, what has happened to our ability to get genuine Miller "A" Lows? What's happened to the ability to have blocking in place, strong arctic high over NY, and low pressure systems crawling up the east coast? Why have most if not all of our snows in the last couple of decades been over running events and lows flying off the coast?
