I think max is going to be connected to vecna like how will was connected to the dark particles in season 2. Only I think max will be tapped into vecnas mind, so she'll know what his plans are. But vecna won't know what the others are planning cause she's in a coma.

My theory is that Max is gonna wake up, but be connected to Vecna somehow. So, Vecna will be able to talk to her through her mind. She will also forget everything about her life, including her relationship with Lucas. Vecna will convince her that her friends are evil, causing her to be on his side.
However, the letters she gave them will have an answer on how to make her remember and escape from Vecnas mind. (I think she would have known from before, but was afraid to say it out loud as Vecna would hear)
In the last episode, when she remembers, she will sacrifice herself for everyone, saving Hawkins.

My theory:
I guess the clock in Creel’s house is a key to defeat Vecna. If you look at Henry's past, you can find out that he can control either time or see the future. Based on this, I conclude that with this clock, having developed his strength, El can bring everything back many years ago, when she had a choice to help Henry, or die at the hands of other children from the laboratory. She won't help Henry, she'll just kill him knowing her potential. After that, she may even survive, but 1983 will change. Will won't fall off his bike, because no one will scare him. Barb will not disappear, because Henry will not be able to create the wrong place with the help of demogorgons. Everything will happen as it should. Everyone will live a quiet life without knowing what could have happened. This theory is easy to refute, but it takes place to be.

- it will come out in summer 2024
- there will be a time jump to 1987, and it starts off with Max waking up from her coma
- a new character will be introduced as a new fan favorite, but dies in the finale

I really don’t think Max is still going to be in a coma, because season 5 is the last season, so The Duffer Brothers would most likely script that Max will die, or be alive. (I really hope she doesn’t die.) And also ALOT of people are asking/begging The Duffer Brothers to not script Max to die. (Theres like a million people not wanting to die, including me.) So that’s my thought! I’m excited for season 5! 💗
