Scott Toy Guru Neitlich from Spector Creative looks at why of all the He-Man toy lines, Classics continues to skyrocket on the secondary market. Will Origins and Masterverse have similar fate?

I'd add to all that the fact that after seeing Revelations many people have probably realized that Classics is the only option for a proper representation of some of their favourite characters in a modern action figure line. I seriously doubt whether the Masterverse will live long enough to release the real King Grayskull or a good looking classic He-Man. Personally I use the Masterverse line to fill in some gaps in my MotUC collection as background characters like Spikor or Stinkor can fit in well enough.

Honestly, I'm having trouble getting into new MOTU toys after classics. After getting a definitive edition of virtually every character, there just doesn't seem much point. (the exception being Masterverse because I did want some of the show specific designs)

I said it a dozen times! The classics was the best thing I ever bought. It took me four years to collect most of them and a ton of money. I wish that was still around. I really like the origins and Revalations too now. I crazy what the classics cost now online.

"Collectors alone are not enough to support brands at retail"

The most ignored sentence year over year by toy bros.

No offense to all the people buying them all for so much now but man makes me feel good I never not collected MOTU. It was all worth it in the end, the hassle the red screen, the shifting schedules. An incredible line and boy my complete collection sure is worth more than my vintage

Every new Wave of Origins I see, I look on E-bay and tell my self to stay strong. It will come to Wal-mart or Toy-r-us in Canada...some day. I would order the figures from Mattel directly...

I tell you something! I was lucky enough to buy the Classics when they were released. Until this day, these are my #1 figures ever. You can forget the rest when you have Classics.

Still find it funny that one reason why the 200X line failed was "Too many He-Men" while one reason the vintage line failed was "Not enough He-Man".

I am a Classics subscriber from Year 2 onwards and was a subber every year since then. As an OCD completist also got all the S7 figures lol. Yup I am shocked at the prices of Classics. Its nuts.

Unfortunately I started collecting Classics around 2017 when Super7 took over. In the last few years I have been getting some figures I really wanted from this incredible line. Most recent get was about a year ago, Classics Fisto and let me tell you that was expensive. This line is one of my absolute favorites ever, the detailed sculpting was so good. This perfect line ended in grand fashion with the incredible Snake Mountain, which is the centerpiece of my collection! Thanks Scott for your part in making this awesome line!

I can feel you patting yourself on the back through this video.
And you’re right to. You’re absolutely right to. What a grand line.

I would guess it's for a similar reason that the Horsemen's Mythic Legions line is able to continue to grow and deepen its bench. It's direct to consumer and fan supported.

I think Classics has done so well, simply because they are the best looking figures ... and because they are harder to get a hold of. Rarity creates demand. I've been looking for a good deal on Stinkor for like 8 months... every time someone sells him at auction, he ALWAYS goes for more than the last one.

Because they were collector toys. There was never the same quantity of them as there were "toys".

I bought MOTUC for a reason; a perfect link to childhood. Not selling my collection!

Why wouldn't Mattel just replicate the Classics line and biz model? Use the same bucks. Sell online and thru subscription. Maybe change the art of the box into the more classic red look to differentiate as a "2nd Printing" but basically, a reprint. What holds Mattel back, do you think?

Once again, the pegs remained empty here locally in all of our stores for over a year. Wave one was the major order the first year, then nothing for over a year after that.

Didn't get into MOTU before last year when I watched litreally every show in anticipation of Revelation, which then disappointed me quite a bit. Nevertheless, the point is I didn't even know about Classics until last year and by then well... its too expensive. I've collected some Origins and some Masterverse, but its hard to comit when I'm unsure about the future.
