11:15 the page on the left seems to have a better reading structure. The left page contains the visuals within the flow of the eye making it so that you read the dialogue, see the person saying it, see the reaction, and then see what they say to react to it. Giving structure to the timing of the image giving it better pacing.

The page on the right muddles what you see first. You see the initiator’s visuals before you see their words and then makes you dart to the words after you see the visuals. It can be difficult to read that way because you want to see what they say and then be hit by the impact of the action rather than pause to read after you see the action.

My thoughts are that the scene flow is better directed in the page to the left.

This video was FANTASTICALLY informative, inspirational and downright entertaining. It got me glued to every word which was said, and the visual presentation was straight up eye candy! LOVE IT!

It sucks that I probably can't afford to be in the program, but I'm gonna try and figure out how to create manga somehow.

11:15 - They both have the same layout so I'm guessing the difference is on the left page, the first panel is an establishing shot, and the page has a more dynamic camera view, and more character emotion with the mother and even in the speech bubble!

But the one I'm stuck on is on the left page, we see the Father noticing the argument in the 3rd panel making it natural for him to be in the last panel asking his wife what's going on, and we see more of the sad emotion on the kid's face running away. But on the right page, I also like him abruptly opening the door and seeing what's happening, that feels more natural than randomly peaking over his wife's shoulders. But looking at that last right panel we don't see the emotion on the kid's face though, but it feels less crowded than the last panel on the left.

- All the while, I feel like I should like the left page more - with better differences - the right page ain't so bad either!

Could be wrong though. Welp, let's continue the video!

Edit - Oh! The difference is Eye Line & Page Flow!

This helps me out so much. Thankfully with my second fan made crossover manga i used different panel sizes so Thankfully i got the basics of panel layout and pacing of how a scene flows. This will help me do it better and when i join the course ill be prepared.

11:23 The paneling is the same BUT the camera POV is different. Also, The manga scene on the right has more close-ups.

For the layout, the first looks like the mother is about to take something from her, while the other looks like the daughter is protecting something

For American manga artists, do we draw panels from right to left, or left to right?

11:15 - the placement and view of the characters on the left feels more cinematic/professional, the first panel looks like an establishing shot, makes it feel like the right one is aimelessly throwing the reader into the situation while the left one is easing the reader into the argument.

after that it seems like information is just more intelligently distributed and portrays the feeling of the scene better: 2nd panel makes the power dynamic more evident than on the right since you're looking down at the girl like the mother is and the speech bubble over the girl and not the mother, the third panel feeling like the POV of the girl conveys the mother's authority better, and having the father behind her sets up the fourth panel much better, having the mother face the same direction on the third and fourth panel feels more natural than her looking opposite ways like on the right, that feels a bit jarring.
