'Rip It Up' was written by Robert Blackwell and John Marascalco, who also wrote 'Good Golly Miss Molly' and 'Ready Teddy' for Little Richard. It was released by Richard in 1956, reaching #1 in the US on the R&B Best Sellers chart, and #17 on the pop chart. Bill Haley and his Comets also released a recording of the song that year, reaching #25 on the US Billboard pop singles chart and #4 in the UK singles chart. The song has also been recorded by Elvis Presley, The Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry, Gene Vincent, Wanda Jackson, Buddy Holly and John Lennon.

Oh man I could listen to you all day, you can sing good Jez, I told my sister about this video and she loved it so much, she's now hooked on Jez videos, she had a picture of you made from her I phone and placed it over her piano in her music .. S .. If I ever come into some money or hit the lottery, I'm not taking a cruise Jez, I'm flying on a plane straight to hear you and your two partners play, lol 😆 lol 😆 😆,
