Plastic Welding Kit, Plastic welder for Car bumper repairs

Показать описание
I use this plastic welder to weld a crack in a Nissan bumper. Plastic bumper repaired with a plastic welder.
This welder is a Chicago Electric, Harbor Freight welder for all plastic body parts on modern-day cars and trucks.

With this being my first time, ever using the plastic welder, I believe it is well worth the money for the welder.

Using the plastic welder was simple to use and worked as described.

Here is what plastics this welder is used on.
TPO- Thermoplastic Polyolefin
PP- Polyethylene
PE- Polyethylene
Polymer filler blends that can be found in car and truck bumpers.

Thanks..there are quite a lot of videos on plastic welding but this one is good addition because it doesn't shoot for a perfect solution but a good workable solution for a daily driver. I think during the sanding, the crack had come back and the more plastic material was applied which is not shown but you can verify with the increased area in the middle of the sanding.
Also I think mesh should be used for better long-term reinforcement. use of paper sheet to cover for primer is a good solution as well...it helps to cut costs for ppl trying to patch up within budget. Thanks again for slow and useful details.

I think you will find this crack returns with a vengeance, you got a capable tool you just need to V it out so you get into the material to add strength to the joint, merely glazing over the surface will invite the "law of leverage" to destroy the newly formed fragile skin.

When you use the sticks to fill it in use the flat tool on the gun heat the back of the stick up touch it to the other part melted it in

Can I use this on a 4300 John Deere tractor? My husband is 93 and the only time is doesn't hurt is when he is mowing. Fortunately, we have lots of fields to keep him busy.

You don't heat deep enough to weld it completely tight

It seems that if you took the bumper off and worked from the back, you could have done all the repairs (maybe more damage is hidden from sight) at once. You could have also used the mesh to make a stronger repair. Maybe you would have even been able to save the paint. A little spot putty and touch up paint, and it would be as good as new. Just sayin.

Why didn't you remove the bumper? Also, you only need to say that this was your first time using this thing once....

Cant hold, you failed to put the steel mesh under the crack to melt it in.

You don't have to take the bumper off there is a technique spreader hot plastic from the outside to the center then you can fill it in with the sticks sand it down when you paint those bumpers you have to get bulldog and put in the paint so it will stick there's a couple really good videos one guy fix the hole in the bumper one guy fix the crack like your welding on a car build it all in

You should have removed the bumper!  Of course, it will require effort and time!   Kills me when people are lazy....  You Know that you have time...What else are you doing, but twiddling your thumbs
