This is one hella late comment BUT...

Use lucy clover. She will boost your luck and you'll find one or two powerups in the crates.
It's better than burton panic cause burton will sometimes waste the powerups on bad places, at least with Lucy clover, you can decide where to use the extra

2 shields is enough, 1 for when the boss rotates to the annoying engine part that fires homing blue pellets. 7:02
1 for emergency use.

2 lasers.
1 for quickly taking out one of the missile launchers of the boss, 1 for destroying the engine part that fires the homing pellets. 7:02

2 megabombs.
One for the black drones 2:40 (ONLY USE IF YOU ARE UNDERPOWERED) and 1 for those thingies that spawn purple bullets when you kill it to clear all the sh!t they released. 3:12

Main weapon supercharge is very valuable here cause it will take out some parts of the boss quickly. One the machine guns and 2 of the rotating engines can be destroyed quickly.
