I get a lot of messages and comments about my beginners guide to Eve video, so I decided to make a few videos specifically addressing these questions. Lots of new players ask what Eve's death and respawn mechanics are, well here's my explanation

Risk of loss produces a thrill (if you're not a bunker-brain), and the thrill is supposed to be part of the fun. If there is not BOTH risk of loss, and opportunity of reward, then the entertainment value moves to zero.
What bothers me is the semi-cartoon physics (elastic collisions and visual non-physical objects (i.e. asteroids you can fly and shoot through). It drives the game towards being combat- and commerce-focused.

Early on there's a question from a developer asking if people would be interested in an option that allowed for double speed skill training, but with permadeath as a penalty for podding. I guess they never went that route.

Ever thought of doing some voice-acting? That "HELLOOO!" intro is hilarious, and quite frankly, quite addictive. You need to market that into like, some sort of cartoon animal or something.

There could be a brilliant use of the body when you get podded, i myself collected few bodies, and i would like to see some new technology introduced to the game where you have the chance to extract implants from the dead body.Now the bodies are usless, CCP can make them worth collecting.Implants prices will go down, make them more affordable, new pilots can have boost on their game experience.I hate when i got podded, i lose arround 100mil everytime this happens.

If you get podded or your ship gets destroyed, do you lose ISK? Not modules or anything, just your money

You forgot to mention any implants installed in your current body are also lost when you get podded.

Apparently not...every single semi-hardcore to hardcore pvper I know ask them what they do with them and (some of them) say I sell them back to their owner or I just keep them in the freezer for when I need "happy time."

You lose about 5% of the unprotected SP. ((Total SP - 800, 000) * 0.05)
I've heard someone found that out by being stuck in contested 0.0, trying to escape from a station whose cloning facility is destroyed, and getting podded six times in a row.

EVE's PvP is amazing. Easily some of the best gaming moments I've ever had. Unfortunately as with all fun things, you have to work to make enough money to finance it. Every time I try to pick up EVE the grinding eventually drives me away.
