Sen. Bernie Sanders joins Sen. David Vitter and CNN hosts Van Jones and Newt Gingrich for a discussion on health care policy.

Sens. Bernie Sanders and David Vitter hold different views on health care. Sanders supports a Medicare-for-all, single-payer system to provide better care for more people at less cost. Sanders also has been a champion of expanding community health centers in Vermont and across the country to provide affordable primary care, dental care, low-cost prescription drugs and mental health counseling. On Wednesday, the two senators debated health care on CNN’s Crossfire.

I agree with Vitter that we should force policy makers to live with the minimum legal definition of healthcare... as well as the lowest federal minimum wage... in areas of the lowest federally regulated standards of air, water, food safety and education for their children... if policy makers were forced to live by all minimum standards we would see new policies that elevated these minimum standards to levels that made them actually livable... which I'm sure Sanders would agree with as well.

I just want to respond to Newt's comments at the end. America is good at treating cancer, but it's the only thing our health care system is good at. Medicaid is poorly run in some parts of the country, but the main issue with it is that they don't pay doctors enough, but Obamacare addresses that.

Newt's suggestion of tax credits to individuals will just result in higher premiums and fees by insurance providers.
