ShopNotes Podcast E202: That's a Star Trek Reference

On this week's episode of the ShopNote's Podcast, John , Phil, and Logan go over some listener comments, wrapping up Season 18 of the Woodsmith Shop TV Show, and all of the updates on projects from PopWood and Woodsmith.

Second, I don't dare go to used "boutiques" as I have no self control where hobbies are concerned. After all, if it's worth doing, it's worth doing to excess.

Finally, I'm surprised John didn't look up when Logan mention the nice piece of ash, crotch ash, to be specific.

I volunteered in the local Albany, NY ReStore for several years. All items are donated so we have no control of condition (they are either sellable or not which we won't accept) and we set prices accordingly based on condition and what items are going to sell in our area for our "typical" clientele. We were known for kitchen cabinets and furniture....didn't get a lot of tools. I now volunteer at a place called The Toolbox which takes only tool donations and proceeds support local senior services programs. We research pricing from eBay or give substantial discount from new tool prices. I come home with something almost every week (picked up a nice trim router yesterday).

Maybe I've been lucky, but my local ReStores have a significant variety of bargains. It does require consistent visiting

Jaime, My Father used to swear by Minwax products .He used American Walnut and Early American a whole lot. and I wanted to make a tribute piece since he's no longer with us, but i can't fine these two stains any where other than sample cans. Do have any ideal where i might look for more volume.

Whatever happened to shop notes? I believe they were affiliated with woodsmith wasn't it? Been a long time subscriber to woodsmith and to shop notes (when it was still published).
