Hold up! Word police here. Shame is NOT the strongest tool of the adversary. This is a common mistake. Regret is. Shame is a spiritual tool of recognition of distancing yourself God. It is the pain that reminds us when we are spiritually hurt. Regret is trying to fix or change that pain into something else on your own. If we had no shame, we would never be able to recognize our mistakes therefore continue doing them with no spiritual consequence. If we have no regrets, we would be processing through our pain in a healthy manner by using Christ as our healer.

I agree! I can’t imagine the shame young girls feel when they are asked sexually explicit questions about masturbation and sexual encounters. Then be told they cannot receive sacrament so everyone knows they did something wrong. Your right. That can only be of the adversary.
