There's a smoothness or more likened to a lack of fatigue that I prefer to these over the ls50s. The ls50s seem to have a risen brightness section which seems "clearer" but not as enjoyable in long term use and it seems to somehow detract from the 3D holography. Ie there's more center image smear.
The ls50s are clearer but it seems like they're meant to be analyzed and not as enjoyed. I feel the same way about the meta which for some reason are even brighter which I find surprising. I suspect kef are trying to gain market share from jbl and klipsch who traditionally have brighter sounds. Polk has been doing the same thing.

Thanks for sharing your passion for the SEs. I picked up the 6 speaker set used and they kinda broke me. I lucked out and got stands too, makes a killer desk setup even without a sub, in a small space at least.
These got me questioning my Polk tower speakers so I picked up a used pair of Q700 and they’re a let down compared to these. Yes they are full range, reasonably detailed, some of that open/unified KEF sound but damn, they don’t really compare to the SEs for that huge open, airy and enjoyable sound. The Q700 seems a little sleepy, flat and doesn’t always maintain that integrated sound.
