I think this actually works as a “Don’t delay and stay behind, you have to keep going forward.”
Some games have that in the form of walls that are behind you every location you desend down into, or if you enter an area and suddenly a creature is back where you were, now keeping you from backtracking to your last location.

Basically what I’m trying to say is that Dread is literally just that, Dread. The feeling of something about to happen that, in turn, makes you panic and flee. It’s supposed to instill fear, to make you realize “maybe I shouldn’t be here anymore” and thus, act accordingly and gtfo of there asap

When the clock hits midnight everything starts floating and you have almost no time to hide, then Dread appears and starts going around and searching for players that didn't get out of the room in time.

Concealed within a room, clocks coming everywhere you roam, your brain breaks to the end of time, don’t be wasteful, it is a crime.

Mechanic:
Stay in a room with a clock for to long, the clock will open wide and time will stop, suddenly it will come back again. Enter the next room and it will be a locked room, there will be clocks slowly appearing every time you don’t look at the wall, once all clocks have appeared, you will have this illusion saying “MISTAKES ARE MADE” and the secret message may appear. Dread will start chasing you through the rooms and won’t stop until 20 doors. Beat him and you will get an achievement.

Stressful ain’t it.
Survive Dread.
There will be a chase theme playing as well. He WONT stop no matter what. Figure or Seek, he will still be there, as you progress the clocks progression will get faster, oh yea forgot to mention, when the grand clocks thing opens, it means you released Dread. And every room you go in, clocks will start forming, basically a wave of clocks, if all tick at the same time, dread will chase you. After dying to Dread 3 times, The next 25 rooms in your Run will be dark, basically power outage, The elevator stops working But it still goes, all The lights are broken and wont Turn on, just like The green House. Guiding Light appears more frequently and so does Screech. And NO snare does not appear. After surviving The power outage. You get a badge.

Myth: FAKE (real) stare at the clock at the lobby and wait untill all clocks stripes go on to the top by together then when you hear a sound reach to door 13 (Surviving dread) reach the next Door. 14 (hiding spots not working) hiding in a bed and a closet would make A mistake. Dread will wait outside the closet waiting you to exit the closet or hide kicks you out of the closet (Dread will actually intsa-kill you without Guiding light propose.
