It's perfect, very beautiful. The only difference is the technique: the two guitarists of Big Brothers played fingerpicking with a ring plectrum on their thumb for soloing and the other fingers free for arpeggio. They also used both Gibson SG Standard with humbuckers.

I've listened to all the best "guitar work" ever "done" (either I'm an idiot or English isn't very good at expressing what I just tried to), and I'm happy to declare that the guitar work in this song is the best ever done, and that my opinion will never change on that.

And yes I know Dave Gilmour from Pink Floyd is a fucking savant of a guitarist and as a whole, his work would easily eclipse that of the Big Brother Holding Company of which I only know one song, but this Summertime song by them is just something truly special and the soulful guitar work is complemented perfectly by Janis Joplin who sang with more emotion than anyone else ever and I hope the people who called her ugly and drove her to suicide by barbiturate are being tortured in Hell by being forced to listen to Taylor Swift 24/7
