The "UGLY" was already there. That's most likely the reason you started your addiction. Every true addiction is to cover up something else. Which means there was already a problem to begin with.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
When you quit, you’ll feel the cost,
The good, the bad, the ugly lost.
The good is easy, the change you crave,
Life improves, you rise, you’re brave.

Your relationships heal, your mind is clear,
Your finances grow, you shift the gear.
Your mental state, no longer bound,
The world opens up, and you’re unbound.

But then comes the bad, the storm within,
The withdrawal shakes, where do you begin?
The aches, the sweats, the restless nights,
The cravings hit, the internal fights.

And then comes the ugly, the mirror shows,
A version of you that no longer knows.
The damage done, the wasted years,
The face you see, the hidden fears.

But in the ugly, there’s power untold,
An opportunity to be brave, to be bold.
You’ve hit rock bottom, but you hold the key,
To rise above and finally be free.

Accountability in the darkest hour,
Is the moment you tap into your power.
The ugly fades as you step into light,
Transforming pain into strength, into might.

🔥 The cost is steep, but the price is worth it. 🔥

I smoked for 29 years and just quit June 2nd with nicotine replacements. I feel way better and hope to give up the nicotine lozenges in a week or two to kick the habit for good👍

I’ve relapsed and gotten clean many many times. Being sober is the best. The first week is the toughest but always knowing that I’ve done it before and that after week I’ll be fine get me over the hump.

Quit vaping 5 days ago first 2 days were rough with some craving but honestly after that I’m fine now don’t feel the need to vape or have any sort of nicotine at all when I quit drinking a year ago it was the same never been difficult for me to cut something if I notice it’s getting bad (I drink now but have full self control and know my limits haven’t blacked out or taken it over board in over a year when I used to do it everyday almost) I believe it’s just mental and if you truly want to quit you just need to win that mental war and you’ll be fine

I've genuinely tried so hard... had my 2 weeks without it many times... but life has been so damn hard... My brain just doesn't let it happen... and I'm an intern psychologist with the knowledge of addiction and dopamine.

mmm I'm 5 weeks sober and I can't stand looking at myself in the mirror, even though I know I'm on the right track for once. I thought quitting alone would be enough, but now I have to put in real work

Lost all sense of self, currently going through the ugly with weed. Working with a therapist though everything takes longer than I wish, also accepting change is another tough thing for me. Well we will see hopefully I come through better than before

Yes, and the outcome just for the sake of the argument is somewhat like this: good-98%, bad and ugly are only 2%.
