Bronze Age Sicily was home to several fascinating Bronze Age cultures. In the inland areas of the southeast the Castelluccio Culture, with its distinctive pottery and elaborate tombs, flourished for several hundred years. Some amazing artefacts have been preserved from the Castelluccio Culture including a tomb cover with an intriguing spiral motif.

The spiral designs on the tomb door look like vines growing, and below them are the seeds, perhaps symbolizing societal and spiritual growth.

I don’t know much about this culture. Fascinating artifacts and tombs. I like to think that the bone globules are musical instruments. That would be cool. 😎 Thanks Laura!
