Maybe it's because I started watching your content after your Gucci nail polish review (which made me instantly subscribe thanks to the comedy and actual mini social lesson) but I genuinely thought that you look really pretty and I didn't realize you were bare faced because your complexion looks great. I realized you were no longer wearing make up because you explicitly said it on a podcast episode and your older videos started to appear on my recommendations. Not gonna lie, you totally rock the eyeshadow game, but that doesn't mean you look weird/older/tired now: you just look more natural and for me, well, I feel a lot more seen(?) and more confident since "yeah there's even influencers out there going bare faced". Just know that you actually look great, very natural and more appealing in my humble opinion c:

I have always loved your authenticity. You don’t do YouTube for the fame but for enjoyment, hence why you’ve obviously still kept your job. You are refreshing and I love that you don’t wear makeup! You are relatable and beautiful, smart and funny. I own about 70 holo taco polishes/toppers and I SIMPLY adore you!

I’ve been here since before OG polish mountain (but after you had already started to show your face in videos). This is, by far, one of my favorite videos I’ve seen of yours. Thank you for being so open and honest with your answers. I think so often we (the audience) forget that the people behind the screen are human too, and have lives and feelings just as complicated as our own.

As someone with a skin condition that can pop up anywhere and can remain there for years, my heart goes out to you so much on the eye rash thing 💔

I have psoriasis and unfortunately there have been times where it's appeared on painfully obvious places like my nose and EYELIDS. It's absolutely awful and I constantly feel mortified. Worse is that there is very little to nothing that can be done to treat it when it's on the skin around your eye, as the primary treatment method of steroidal creams can permanently damage your eye and even cause blindness. The natural oils of the skin around the eye also mean any topical creams can and will travel- think of it like if you poured dye on wet hair. It wouldn't stay just where you first poured it, it would seep into the surrounding area. The same happens with the natural oils in the skin, and whether we notice it or not, there's traces all around the skin comprising the eyelids.

Ultimately this makes it impossible to target and isolate application of a topical solution to the area without risking damage to the more vulnerable tissue like the retina, meaning I can't really treat it... I'm stuck like this. So I can absolutely relate, Cristine.

There isn't any singular thing or phrase I can say to make things better, but do what you know works and reinforce the positives and workarounds every day. I also live with disabilities and honestly with this, it really is something you could benefit from as looking at as a disability: something you may not ever be able to cure, but that doesn't have to mean the loss of hope or quality of life. It just means you have to make adjustments or re-learn some things and methods while reframing your headspace to work with a new reality. It takes a long time, truth be told, to get used to all the changes- and your brain will fight it every day because "if I was able to live fine before, surely I can return to that! I just have to work harder!" ....Sometimes that just isn't the case, and it's important to come to terms with that and learn to accept it. It doesn't ever have to be a death sentence tho to your sense of self or future. It just means the future you envisioned for yourself will be different. Not over, never over, just different. And different is never necessarily bad. In some respects, it IS a fixed state, but only in certain places. Like a core, but encased in clay. You can't make the core as malleable as the outer clay, but the fact the rest of the surrounding material IS clay means the overall silhouette can be shaped and reshaped until it works best for you.

I know this was probably more out-there, but I hope it helps.
You know, it's scary when so much FEELS like it's reliant on your looks and they start to fade or change... but you can still look lovely- because you ARE lovely. And no physical shift of your appearance can truly rob you of what you bring and demonstrate that make people so drawn to your channel and endeavors. The body may shift, but you're still you. You're still this beautiful effervescent nerd who makes the world such a better brighter place simply because of the special brand of You you bring to the world and show in your work and play.

I hope you manage to find what helps you feel comfortable in your own skin again someday soon. Know tho that while you're doing your best, the people that matter see you the way you strive to be seen. And that's worth reminding yourself of as often as you need.

I do relate on this💜 I fought acne for many years and have plenty of deep scars all over my face. People always stare at me and ask what’s wrong with my face. It hurts

I get rashes (eczema) around my eyes and mouth and it means a lot to hear Cristine talk so openly about how her skin isues are affecting her. Thank you :)

I bet the same people that say "you look tired" also say things like "take her swimming on the first date." Just remember: YouTube has no dress code. Cristine is beautiful, with or without makeup, whether she dresses as a gym rat or a sock. And why is it so important to you how other people look?

I honestly can’t understand anyone hating on you. You’re smart, funny, beautiful, and even with your successes seem so down to earth. I don’t think I’ve ever heard you utter a harsh word about anyone. Ben’s okay, too 😉

I think this all the time watching your videos, but now seems a good time to say it:
Your hair is incredible healthy and beautiful. I love the length and I wish I could grow my curls that long. Absolutely stunning.

Cristine, you don't look bad in videos. I honestly didn't know until you mentioned it.
I may be 50, but momma wears readers, so she can see.
Also, polish mountain couldn't have been good on you personally. That was incredibly laborious.

Thanks for making great content !

I love Simply's natural look, lil freckles and a warm tipped nose -- more beautiful each time we see her.

I agree with Beyyn. I think you think you look worse than you do. Having said that, as a virulent cold sore sufferer, I absolutely know that feeling of 'I've got something on my face that's the size of Namibia' and it makes you feel so low. I just see you as a naturally beautiful, intelligent, funny lady. I also think you're a wonderful role model. Big hugs xxx

Oh man I feel you so hard. I have a skin condition and when I have flair ups I know people see it. And the best part I was a make up artist so got asked so often why I wasn't completely dolled up 🤦 like no thanks it burns and doesn't even cover really.

You are so beautiful inside and out. You have lit up many of my days and I always look forward to "spending time with you". I look up to you as a business woman and an artist. Keep being your amazing self. Love you! Also I love Holo Taco, I have 45 polishes so far.

It must be extremely difficult to receive "troll hate" on the internet. I give you props! You have handled it with grace and you always stay profesh! Like 3LW once said "haters, they gonna hate"

Genuinely cannot ever see a rash on your eyes, and I watch loads of your vids. Also for what it’s worth you have a beautiful face. Even better without makeup IMO. Also, just because I personally think this makes a difference though not everyone will; I am not the kind of person who says nice things to people because I think they want/need to hear it, and I’m not physically attracted to women.
