You missed the point of these routers a bit. You seem to think that their main benefit is sharing a single sim card - but you can do that from your phone directly by setting it up as a mobile hotspot.

The benefit of these things is that, in areas with very bad signal strength, you can set up an external antenna and get *way* faster speeds than your phone can provide in those low-signal conditions.

Yes, they can be convenient private networks on the go (for laptops and tablets etc) but a phone can do that too.

Try going somewhere with very poor signal strength and doing your tests again.

The Huawei in your test is accessing 4G on one interface and then routing it over Wifi on another interface. Doing more than double the work of the iPhone connecting directly to 4G. If you wanted to do a true comparative test, you should have run the iPhone in Hotspot mode, and done all the speed tests from a laptop.

you need to know what LTE Bands the antennas is compatible with. also dont judge your signal by how many bars you have. the web interface of your 4G hotspot should give you data about the signal strenght

So.. testing internal vs external antenna when you have 4-5 bars is pointless, even if you had set the router to actually use them. Go somewhere you have no signal then put it on a tree stump or something with no aerial then vs an aerial. Then set your speed to read in MB/s like the rest of everyone who dont know what mbps is and assume its the same (Meters vs CMs)

I'm getting ready to relocate to a remote area, and I was told, the fastest solution was mobile broadband, I already have a device similar to this, tho I think a little bit older, it runs 4G LTE (Looks almost identical) so my plan is to have a decent antenna on the roof of the house and run the cable down and inside to the modem and see if it's effective.

You should test how far the router can be placed away from the phone before the signal strength will start to degrade - with and without the antennas.

Brother you are so lucky telenor there gives you so much speed, in Pakistan gives only 3-4mbps which is hilarious for a full bar 4G

While other providers can go upto 100mbps too

The limitation is down to the Wi-Fi not the mobile network. Most Device like this only have the ability to transfer @ 50-60 Mbs, that's why the Iphone looks faster.

comparison should be make between your phone hotspot and this mifi....not directly from your phone

Super powerful 3G/Lte Street 2 Pro Internet amplifier. Works worldwide with any SIM card, internet speed up to 300Mbs. Where even the phone does not catch

Would these antennas have the same effect on my 5G router?

When you did the phone speed test, did you turn off the Wi-Fi on the phone ?

these wifi (sticks) keep coming loose the threads that is on router so end up rolling sideways down, i read thread locker is not conductive so thats a no go, is there anything that i cud put on the router nibs that wud glue them on after screwing on and dry solid ish, so they dont come loose, "Without affecting any gains" or signal in general, thx

I just bought a Huawei B525 router, the strength is bad, is there a way I can improve this?

Can you help, please? I have one of these E5577 - I am in a very variable reception area. I also have a Huawei aerial with 2 x TS9 connectors. DO I HAVE TO CHANGE anything in the 5577 menu when I attach the aerial? I seem to remember from a couple of years ago that you need to 'tell' the 5577 that you are connecting an ext. aerial but now cannot find out whether you do.

Are both external antennae used for access or for backhaul??
