She even hooked him up with cookies and chocolate milk between takes. Looking back on her fondly, Davis said, "She was everything an eleven-year-old Ewok could possibly wish for."

I went to Northern Fancon one year and Dickie Beer talked about how Carrie Fischer saved his life on set. While they were filming the scene where Boba Fett fell into the sarlacc pit, Dickie was supposed to fall on his back and two workers were supposed to pick him up. They had done another fall take just before lunch and the workers forgot to pick him up. He couldn't move, so he sat in his costume, which was slowly suffocating him. Dickie and Carrie were supposed to meet at lunch. When Dickie didn't show up, Carrie grew concerned and went looking for him. She found him laying on set, got the attention of the paramedics and he was taken out of his suit.

He said that if Carrie hadn't found him, he likely would've died.

Fun fact: warwick davis was actually a normally-sized eleven year old until this role, spending so many hours confined in an ewok suit stunted his growth and now he’s that short for the rest of his life. So carrie fisher was right to be worried about him.

If I’m not mistaken, I believe Davis was a big Star Wars fan before he was casted. So big in fact, that Mark Hamill bought him every Star Wars action figure he didn’t have yet. The cast really did treat him like their own son!
