I've tried those sorts of body butters before, and I agree with your review. They have visual and scent appeal, but that's about it. I love the City Beauty body balm!

I bought the Truly unicorn body butter. I fell in love with the smell. I only used it on my hands at the time but it felt so decadent. I even bought one for my bfs mom. I think I got it because Emily Noel mentioned it one time and I had been eyeing it already at Ulta

I got the Truly when it was half price, no way I'd purchase it full price, anyhow, I believe it has coconut oil in it which hardens depending on temperature. I had the same experience and I'd use it on my feet at night with socks and it made them soft in the morning. My son loved to dig his fingers in it and smell it!!!😂
