You can't leave and rejoin the EU whenever you like, it's up to the 27 members of the EU and not the UK.

The UK cannot unilaterally reverse Brexit. It's not up to the UK. Anyone who suggests such an idea is being deliberately disingenuous.

The summary is that the UK still hasn’t learned anything. The UK still thinks it can cherry pick the items within the EU which are beneficial for the UK without paying for the membership. The UK calls this “ we are working on a new agreement with the EU”. 😅

We won't be allowed back in. Since we left, the UK's failure is highlighted as an example of what happens if you think you are bigger or better than the EU. It has quietened all talk of countries wanting to leave because they now think 'be careful what you wish for'. Also, without us being a distraction, there is more cohesion and agreement between the members.

Let’s remember what we lost when we left the EU..
Open Boarder free travel, Stay for an unlimited time in the EU, Work in the EU, Better trade with the EU, European funded projects in the Uk, We also lost a huge number of skilled and unskilled workers and much more than we gained. Who remembers the promise of £350m a week for the NHS if we leave, Better control of our boards and immigration. We had no idea what we were really voting for, those who did, lied to us. What a mess the UK is in now….

I'll add my voice. Brexit is NOT a thing from the past. We live with its consequences, which include a deep distrust of British institutions by everyone in every segment of society.

EU: “Is Nigel still around?”
UK: “Oh yes.”
EU: “Ah.”

Brexit is not a thing of the past, it's something that effects us every single day. It will never go away

Apropos your observation that " There is only a limited time that they can blame the previous regime." The previous government managed to spin that argument for 14 years.

The Tories really did a number on the UK. It's going to take a lot more than 6 months for Labour to turn it around, if theyvever can. A lot of the damage is structural and very resistant to correction. Britain has probably lost its place on the world stage permanently with this egregious act of self-destruction.

The USA, australia, EU, and UK need to sign a collective tax agreement to stop allowing billionaires to exploit our economies.

since Brexit the opion in Denmark had never been more pro EU, before Brexit many said we should leave also.. That has changed totally, almost noone want us to leave. more than 85% say yes to EU today.

What was the point of Brexit when all that happened was that the Government at the behest of big business allowed hundreds of thousands of low skilled workers in from non-EU Countries thereby suppressing wages. At least when we were in the EU, UK citizens could live and work in the EU, visa free.

The EU cannot allow the UK back in easily, because it would set a Dangerous precedent for countries to just leave and rejoin without any second thought.

If they are to rejoin, it would have to be no different from any new member joining. Special treatment cannot be afforded.

The EU is based on free movement of labour, services & goods. The UK has decided not to be a part of the free movement of labour, services & goods. So the EU has no interest in making new deals with the UK, unless it's to the benefit of the countries in the EU. That means either more EU standards & regulations to be automatically adopted in the UK or deals that will benefit EU countries economies. What the UK is not going to receive is a lifeline or the benefit of doubt as to their intentions. The UK worked against EU collaboration when the UK was a member, dragging feet whenever proposals for more collaboration came up. & simultaneously blamed the EU for the problems that were actually caused by the lack of collaboration in the EU. Like the illegal immigration which needed EU border security forces & common EU immigration rules. Eventually the UK left the EU. That the UK left the EU didn't just cause damage to the economy in the UK, it also caused damage in the remaining EU countries. Also the EU countries have had to deal with the accumulated problems, caused by the UK blocking collaboration. Subsequently the UK doesn't have much goodwill with the EU countries... Who wants a close relationship again with a partner who has untreated borderline personality disorder.

I'm from Sweden, in the EU. I was sad to see the UK leave, because you often had the same opinion in the EU as us. So we lost an enormously important ally there.
And I thought Brexit would be slightly bad for the UK in the long run, but nothing dramatically bad. Still a very big and strong economy, so you would still prosper. But at a slightly slower rate than if you had access to the entire EU market. I mean, that would make sense, right? Less market access, less prosper?
So this dramatically fast, bad situation for the UK economy really surprised me. What in the hay?

Old enough to remember when the UK joined "Common Market", which evolved into the European Union.

The EU and UK are already working towards this and about time too, it's not working for either side we're stronger together.

Just one comment... Brexit is not in the past, is with us every single day making things much harder by making exports more difficult
