Disney Mickey Mouse Limited Edition Animated Telephone Doesn't Move or Animated when Rung

I was given this Limited Edition 75th Anniversary Mickey Mouse phone from a friend and reseller James (Times with JR on YouTube). He sold it as not working but it got returned to him from the buyer. Instead of throwing it away he decided to give it to me to try and fix.

That plastic was sorta skinny but if you are doing plastic welds like that you can put some fine steel mesh in on both sides of the crack and mush it in to the plastic with the soldering iron. More or less like fixing cracks in walls. That will hold forever.

Hello sir i just fixed my mickey phone with your video. I want to thank you for solving the problem. I got myn from a second hand store. And there was also no sound and no moving.
So i followed your steps and saw that it was indeed broken off and stuck between the gears. I glued it back on and attached the string back on. And it moves again. Thank you for your guidance. Do like your method of actually physically heating plastic to weld, never thought of doing this. Thanks for sharing. Here a method that might be of interest; I’ve attempted repairing/rejoining broken plastic using ‘solvent weld cement’ the stuff plumbers use to permanently join plastic waste pipes. Success depends on type of plastic being repaired, (waste pipe I think are usually pvc though I might be wrong). Might be useful for you in a future repair.

Just picked up a couple of toy planes. Neither worked as both still had batteries inside. First one was ok but transmitter no IR. The other ! Well what actually remained of the batteries. All blue and off white fizz..
