Pt. 4 Track Race of the Arctic Cat 550 Shootout.
For this comparison we took both ATVs through the same trail and a large puddle at the end. Some different things were noticed. On the 2012 through bumps and dips the front noticeably dives more and mud and debris are thrown up from the narrower front fenders compared to the 2016 which, lower in the rear, popped through bumps and dips keeping the front up and the wider front fenders helped keep mud and debris away. Also, throttle response is smoother on the 2016 model.
A Shootout between Arctic Cat's two styles of 550 class atvs. The two we are putting up against each other are a 2012 Arctic Cat 550i and the new 2016 Arctic Cat Alterra 550 XT.
