The fact that Reno is 65 years old only reminds me that I am 53. Seems like just yesterday I was rocking this song in an 82 cutlass with my buddies cruising the streets. I had just passed my driving test a few weeks prior to buying the cassette. Yeah cassette, a few years before CD's hit the market. Working for Weekend, When Its Over, Lucky Ones . Reno stills sounds like he can hit most of the notes.

A fascinating snapshot into the aging voice seems stuck in 1982, where so many other vocalists lose the vintageness of their tone. Reno may have packed on some pounds but his voice remains a force to be reckoned with. His mic placement and body language dictate much effort and diaphragmatic pressures that would make Chuck Norris proud! This took me back to cruisin the strip on Peoria in Tulsa back in the early eighties, full camaro mullet and aviator shades at night baby!

I saw Loverboy in the early 80's at the mid-south coliseum in Memphis! Joan Jett opened up the show. They totally rocked back then. It's great to see them reunited. Mike Reno may have to struggle a bit to hit those notes, but he still nails it! Loverboy ROCKS!!
