Critically acclaimed musician Ted Yoder is widely considered “the Bela Fleck of the hammered dulcimer." Ted is a National Hammered Dulcimer champion. He’s released five beloved and critically acclaimed solo albums, and become a master educator of the instrument.
Ted has been profiled in the Kearney Hub, Huffington Post, and on NPR’s All Things Considered show, among many other features, profiles, and reviews in regional and
national tastemaking outlets. On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, Ted became something of a household name when a Facebook Live video of him from his Live From The Orchard series playing Tears For Fears’ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” went viral. The video rocketed up to 53 million views in four days

Not to be a downer, but I sang this song at my dear friends funeral. It was seriously the hardest performance I ever had to do, in front of her family and friends, literally being someone no one knew. But to hear you play this song was totally inspirational. You would have totally made her day. She was truly an inspiration in our lives, and was taken way too young in a car crash. It was a privilege to sing for her and her family, but for you to be there playing the dulcimer would have been the icing on the cake. I know she would have been smiling down on all off us, and she would have said "You rock Ted!!" Thank you for all you do brother, and your talent exceeds all expectations!

Hi I was singing with Chorale in the Ithaca Children's Choir when you accompanied us on Sail Away! That was my favorite song and the hammered dulcimer sounded so cool!!! I think it might be my new favorite instrument! I think it is so cool you really have seven children! Mostly I think it's cool because I am obsessed with The Sound of Music! We bought your latest CD and I can't wait to hear it! Thanks for coming to play for us!

It translates very well -- hardly surprising, since it's such an ethereal song.
You play it beautifully.
Thank you so much for sharing it here.

This is a MasterWorks RCE XR (Russell Cook Edition) Russell is the builder and owner. I won this dulcimer in 2010 for the national title and I'm so glad I did.

It was an absolute pleasure to play with you girls. I hope to do it again sometime. I hope you get obsessed with the HD and ask your parents for one for Christmas and then go on to become a national champion or something better. :)

My other half gave me a dulcimer and a month of lessons for Christmas. I've been Youtubing like mad for inspiration. This video gives me hope that I won't get stuck in a rut!!

This is simply beautiful.

This was always one of my favorite classic rock songs growing up, and it was my Dad's favorite song of all time.

He once told me that all he asked of me for when he passed on, was to have this song played at his funeral, which I did.

Thanks for doing such an amazing cover.

(Dan 2:35)  Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

I'm so happy that you are getting more recognition now. This instrument and what you do with it are both amazing. I didn't even know what a dulcimer was before watching your videos.
