For No One - The Beatles - Full Instrumental Recreation (4K)

What my friends ask for, they receive!

I received a handful of very kind notes on my "For No One" video indicating that something was missing. After a quick re-listen, I realized that (1) there's a piano mixed beneath the Clavichord, (2) the drumming should be more prominent, and (3) the second horn solo ends early.

I happen to be off work this week, so I recorded a new piano part this morning and slapped together a new mix! I didn't have time to film anything new, but this should suffice fine. I also added an easter egg at the end showing off a new arrival in the Sokil household (his name is George).

Please be patient - I'm a one-person show, so sometimes I miss something or make mistakes (and I suck at taking criticism). But I'm getting better all the time!

PS - I may record another Revolver track or two before returning to Rubber Soul.

This is The Beatles song that hooked me to listen to them. I fell in love with the melody! I'm an avid listener of The Fab Four since the '90's (I was born in 1978).

Honestly, I don't mind these little discrepancies. Of course it's never going to sound EXACTLY like the original recording. Not even the Beatles themselves could accomplish that. No artist can, actually.
What really interests me is HOW the overall sound is achieved.

For example, in "I Need You", you have this percussive sensation throughout the whole song, and you think, "how is this done?"
And then... surprise! It's Ringo banging the back of an acoustic guitar.
In "Nowhere Man", what's the effect used in the solo? Where does that tone come from? Surprise, not exactly an effect per se (or not just), but two guitars playing in unison.

THIS is what fascinates me, and I never even thought of these possibilities, before your videos.

Great remix! I believe I hear Ringo hitting the bass drum twice with his kick though. The drums are so subtle in this song it’s hard to hear any exact beat. Gotta say though that bass and piano is on point though Michael, bravo.

Oh man, this is so lovely. I've always thought the metering slowed down ever so slightly in the second half of the song, it's very subtle. And lo and behold a little after 00:35 your piano playing slowed downed just a hair off the beat. Your attention to detail is always so spot on, thanks Michael.
