Hi Teacher Friends!! I'm Kate and I'm a first year Kindergarten teacher in Northern California, welcome to my channel - Golden State Educate! ☀️

I've gotten so many questions about how I plan and organize everything for a week of distance learning in Kindergarten. In this teacher vlog, I go in depth and breakdown everything I do to plan a week of synchronous lessons for my students!

Thanks so much for watching and supporting my channel! 💛

Hi! I’ve also been using Raz-Kids for guided reading small groups this year. Have you noticed there’s also mini lessons to go with the books? Like comprehension questions, phonics activities, etc. I like the comprehension activities the most because my students really need help in this area.

I can’t believe your school makes the kids sit on zoom or google meets all day 😳

Hi! I watched a tutorial on how to upload boom cards on see saw but it looked so complicated. If you are so inclined, can you make a video on how you uploaded and how the kids get to it? Or can you recommend one you found easy to follow? The tutorials I watched seemed soooo multi step for the children-

Eric Carle’s “The Hungry Caterpillar” or “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See” and Lucille Colandro’s “There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly” are good books for teaching sequencing.

Where did you find the digital pocket chart with straws for counting days in school?

Hey Kate! Another great vlog!! I teach 5th and 6th grade math and science. I love the way you are doing your small groups in your break-out rooms. I wish to do something similar with my students. I just recently purchased some 5th and 6th grade Boom cards. Can I get you to explain to me how you set up your Boom cards? I I wish to incorporate these with my hybrid classes as well as my virtual classes. However, I am concerned about possible FERPA law violations. Please help me find a way to do this with my class in a way that is safe, yet engaging for my students. Thanks a lot!!!

Amanda Richardson has AMAZING leveled Guided Reading bundles on TeachersPayTeachers. She goes through sight words for their levels, word work, writing components and added digital download books this spring.
