I’m 35, I started collecting Halloween masks at around the age of 11. The mom and pop stores just had the most amazing selection of masks and I can still recall the memory of my entire bedroom smelling like latex. The masks I see in stores now don’t excite me. There seems to be no heart or imagination behind them, just boring designs to fill the shelves.

As much as it sucks, it also is pretty cool how Halloween is really becoming a D.I.Y. sitch. I'm here for that, inspires creativity.

A few years ago, I managed to disturb the fuck out a dollar general mummy mask with scissors, red and brown acrylic paint, thread, hanger wire, and an onion bag.

Get crafty guys, 'cause this shitshow isn't getting any better.

That Evil Dead 2 dvd looks so damn good. No luck finding the Walmart exclusive horror masks in my local store either. The Neca at both my Walmart and target has been pretty lackluster lately as well.

I have an important adult thing coming up tomorrow and it's been causing my anxiety to kick my ass and watching this is the first time I've been able to relax in two weeks. Also I feel you, my local Walmart doesn't even have a Neca section, just a handful of Pops.

I’ve also noticed that these big retail stores have been pretty awful so far this year. Only thing I’ve even considered buying is a $10 killer clown mask from DG because I thought he looked kinda cool

Personally ever since I started making masks, I've never looked at mass produced masks the same way since I'm pretty confident that I could make a better one myself. Let's be honest, most of the time a latex mask that costs $40 or less is not going to be good. I don't know if you've heard of Stiltbeast studios, Allen Hopps would probably buy something with the intention of modifying it for a costume, but like yourself he'd probably wait until after Halloween since it would at least be a more reasonable price for a mask that's just not that good.
