Am 51. I started my own farm 2.5yrs ago. Its not just young farmers watching. Lots of small farmers are second career folk that have always wanted to do this. Watching from Ireland ❤

This is a really great video gleaning 10 years of Ryans experience working closely with JM and various institutions to really dial in the most current paradigm around starting a farm and becoming a farmer in 2024!
Thanks to Ryan for the help and encouragement with my farm. These conversations really help me realize how important it is to keep pushing forward to make sure our communities are feed well!

**ANYONE thinking of traveling to stay at the old mill DO IT!!!! what an amazing place you and your crew have made! I know its looks amazing on the vids but to see in person! the people, the food, the atmosphere, the inn room, the green house, the plants, that beautiful little town, the agriculture rich area!!!! wow!

Another good option is check out Curtis Stone's Urban Farming channel and book with info on how to farm on leased land. Also if you're younger you could start with something like a backyard nursery, which could fund your backyard garden, which could both scale up as you get older and more experienced.

to farm you are either crazy or brilliant, Its a job where angels fear to tread. A garden in every town and city is the goal. Over grow the system.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. Question though, How or can one have a small veggie stand/sell plants on there own country property and would you go about doing that or looking into that?

I’m already rewatching this since I missed things while I was contemplating the examples. We are starting from scratch with bare property. I’m curious what would be a good size wash & pack workstation area for 2 acres of growing?
I LOVE how JM has everything on wheels inside his wash/pack setup.
